Sarah DeLuca trained in the IRC and also served as the Center Coordinator from 2014-2018. She was an advanced practicum student and student supervisor for three years. During her training, Sarah facilitated IR groups for PAU students, local elementary school teachers, peer support specialists, psychotherapy clients, and Veterans with serious mental illness. Sarah co-facilitated two grant-funded year-long trainings for community mental health providers on mindfulness informed care and implementing the IR curriculum in their agencies. Sarah was the primary facilitator for a nine-month training program at the San Francisco VA where she provided training on an adaptation of IR for Veterans with serious mental illness. Sarah served as a sub-committee chair for the YMCA Stress Task force in Palo Alto, CA to develop a stress management intervention in response to findings from a community needs assessment. Sarah received the Elton C. & Joan R. Waelde Meditation and Psychology Assistantship K2 Award in 2015, and the Everest Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
Sarah’s clinical and research interests focus on clinical uses and adaptations of mindfulness and meditation for adults and therapist training. Sarah did her pre-doctoral internship at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services in Los Angeles, CA, and is currently completing her post-doctoral internship at the San Francisco VA.
